I have a large “Outstanding” Student loan, and I’ve been told there are “Forgiveable Loans”, which are paid by Grants. I need any and all information pertaining to this. Thank You.

It depends on where you live. There are “Cal Grants” in California, for example. Check out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) first, though. Get your Student Aid Report (SAR) from by filling out the FAFSA. Almost all financial aid programs require the FAFSA SAR as a prerequsite for receiving money.

Yes, there are forgiveable student loans out there, but most do not cover the entire amount of the student loan. However, some programs out there require you to have not consolidated your student loans. Some require a large amount of volunteer time in a year to working in a specific profession such as a nurse. One program requires 1700 hours of community service in a year. I will list some places where you can find student loan forgiveness programs. Good luck!

Look on pages 35 and 36 of this dept of education publication. they list about 13 different ways to get loans forgiven. They are also specific about the type of loan it has to be before it is forgiven.
    Good Luck.
