IM THINKING ABOUT DROPPING A FEW CLASSES SO I CAN AFFORD THIS SEMESTER, I WAS OFFERED $5500 IN LOANS. CAN I GO PART TIME OR WILL IT AFFECT THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THEY GAVE ME IN LOANS?
THIS IS NOT A PELL GRANT ONLY STAFFORD LOANS.
Yes, part time students can receive student loans. You must attend at least half-time (6 hours at most schools). It will reduce the amount of your loan, because your tuition and books costs will go down.
If you were originally taking more than what is considered full time and drop down to full time status. (going from 15 hours to 12 hours) it would not affect your loans because you would still be considered full time.
