   Call the bank making the offer, explain to them you don’t want to apply and be turned down, because that will affect your credit, so you’d like to know what criteria they consider when granting student loans and if they think you qualify, prior to applying.

   Hi-

   You can get a federal loan that is not dependent on a credit score by filling out your FAFSA. Otherwise, no you cannot get a private loan now with that score.
