How can I defer my student loan repayment?

Some years ago I went to university and has not ended. I could not afford to make payments. They want to garnish my wages. Can I temporarily slow payments, I heard of something called deferred salary or foreground, if that makes sense. I can not afford to garnish my wages, I know someday I’ll pay, but not now.
