I have a big private loan to pay back to AES ( over $50K) and the interest rate is close to %9. 7 percent! Plus I got layed off from my job and been out of work for a while doing small temporary jobs so I have to get a forbearance/deferment because the payments are too high for me. Im trying to go back to school too and I know ill be paying this in my grave. but i have to keep paying it even though ill be in school full time when i go back

can you get someone to co sign?
Its better to have a talk with the people who you got the loan from , on ways to reduce interest.

Talk to the folks from whom you got the loan. If you had made consistent payments, you have a higher chance of getting the interest lowered.

Try to do school. . . when you go back parttime, in hopes that you can find a job with a company that assist with tuition reimbursement.

You can check into private loan consolidation, but there are few that other such a product. You will probably have to see what you can do to work out payments with AES.
