How can I obtain a postponement or abstention, if a student loan companies usually go away?

I am currently in graduate school and my undergraduate Student loans have been sold to a company without my knowledge and I am now trying to get a deferment or forbearance, and they are not letting on. In addition, I seek financial assistance for primary school. I can not because I get my loan from default. Please help
