If I want to get a loan for the 2008 – 2009 school year, and I can register for fall classes at the end of March, when can I apply for the loan? Would it be after I have completed my registration? Thanks for any help you can offer.
well its a personal loan so ask them most likely apply as soon as possible and do let them know what college you are taking into consideration
first you need to file a FAFSA, www. fafsa. ed. gov to see if you qualify for any federal stafford loans, these ALWAYS have either no interest while in school (subsidized) or very low fixed interest rate (unsubsidized). If your school is a direct lending school, you have no choice your stafford loans must go through Direct Loans, if your school is a FFELP lending school, you can see if you can use National City Bank as your lender and/or servicer. If you are applying for a private loan, which should only be a very last resort, you would want to wait. Private loans are credit based, and the credit check is only good for a few months. Plus, because they are a last resort, you would want to wait and see if you really need them. You would not want to apply for a private loan until the end of July.
