Unsubsidized Stafford Student Loan?

I’m currently taking 15 hours, but I need to drop a course. Since I will only be taking 12 hours now, will my Student loan be affected next semester? Btw, next semester I will also be taking 12 hours (if that’s of any relevance). One of the courses for my 12 hours is an intermediate course, so I’m not sure how this all works. And since it’s the unsubsidized stafford Student loan, I’m not sure how they operate. ANY help is appreciated. Thanks!
It depends, are you in the semester or the quarter system?
If you’re in the semester system, there’s nothing to worry about for any of your financial aid – 12 units is considered ‘full time’ in the semester system.
From as much as I can tell, though, stafford loans are for students of any amount of time, from full time to 3 units. You should be able to retain the full loan regardless. I’ve never dipped below full time, but my financial advisers have told me that it’s only pell grants and other issues that would be affected by dropping to 3/4 time or less.
