I am a freshman at FAMU and I am not eligible for financial assistance. I need to get a Student loan but I don’t know too much about them and what to look for like interest rats and stuff like that. . . what should I do?
Most everyone is eligible for Stafford Loans. Contact your schools financial aid office.
Contact your local bank or credit union for information on private loans.

Apply for federal student loans at http://fafsa. ed. gov You won’t need a cosigner and you don’t have to pass a credit check. Be wary that most people who applied for fin aid did so back in Feb/March so you won’t get priority over those people, but hopefully it will still be ready in time for you to start school in the fall. Read this book cover to cover, it will help you understand the types of fin aid you are applying for with the fafsa. Including loans, grants, and work study.
