Will I receive Financial Aid if I haven’t started to pay off my federal student loans?

I attended university from Fall of 04 to Winter of 06. During that time, I took out 2 Student loans. I basically been out of school almost 3 years, and have not started to pay those off. I want to return this fall, so I just filled out my FASFA application online. Will the non-payment of these loans affect my eligibility for financial aid?
If they are in default, you won’t be able to get any finanical aid. If they are not, then you will be fine.
